Growth And Infrastructure Bill Delayed As NIPA Discusses Amendments

Today's entry reports on the progress of the Growth and Infrastructure Bill.

Today's entry reports on the progress (or otherwise) of the Growth and Infrastructure Bill.

I was expecting to be reporting on the second reading debate on the Growth and Infrastructure Bill from yesterday, but it was not to be.

Instead, the government have had to rush through the Mental Health (Approval Functions) Bill, having discovered that lots of people have been sectioned by doctors who were not entitled to do so.  I note that the bill corrects this retrospectively but doesn't do anything going forwards, so those inappapropriate doctors had better stop right away.  The bill is in the Lords today, conveniently displacing the Electoral Registration and Administration Bill, where the Conservatives and Lib Dems were likely to be  voting on different sides.
