Career

Before entering the patent profession David gained a masters degree in engineering science from the University of Oxford, split between analogue electronics, digital electronics and mechanical engineering. David qualified as a UK and European patent attorney in 2005.

With broad technical experience in electronics and computer system design, David specialises in sectors including; video and audio coding, digital electronics, optical storage media, and content delivery and networking.

As well as patent drafting and prosecution work on the electronics side, David has been involved in numerous disputes over infringement of rights in patents and designs, allowing him to take a rational view and see a quick commercial resolution of issues through negotiation and settlement for clients.
