Over the past year, Posse Herrera Ruiz acted on a slew of finance transactions for both lenders and borrowers, with a marked emphasis on the infrastructure and energy sectors. The group is also well versed in regulatory and fintech-related matters. Finance and capital markets head Mariana Posse is widely revered for her deep experience in both transactional and regulatory issues and recently reviewed Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation’s $501.7m credit agreement with the Federación Nacional de Cafeteros. Following the departure of director Lina Lineros towards the end of 2021, Natalia Escobar joined the group as partner in early 2022. Escobar is particularly recommended for her track record in banking regulation, gained from previous stints at both the Bank for International Settlements as well as the Financial Superintendence. At director level, the increasingly prominent Jesús Albarrán is noted for his activity in finance and capital markets work; he recently supported Posse in the firm’s representation of Canada, as lender, on a sovereign loan to Colombia. The two-partner team also includes finance-focused associates Alejandro González and Mauricio Nieto. Since publication, Albarrán has been raised to the partnership – effective as of January 2023.
