Career
Mr. Hirsch serves as the relationship partner for several publicly-traded and large privately-held corporations in all facets of employee benefits law. Mr. Hirsch counsels companies on qualified retirement and welfare plan matters regarding plan design, plan administration, fiduciary responsibility, and disclosure requirements. Mr. Hirsch advises employers with respect to ERISA and Internal Revenue Code compliance issues and assists with Department of Labor and Internal Revenue Service audits and plan correction programs. He also counsels and trains clients with respect to fiduciary governance and claims administration.
Mr. Hirsch works with boards of directors, plan administrators, investment committees and plan fiduciaries regarding their duties and responsibilities under federal law. In this role, he assists investment committees and plan fiduciaries with the legal implications of all types of managed investments and financial instruments. His guidance encompasses conflicts of interest, prohibited transactions and proper trust fees and expenses.
Mr. Hirsch also has substantial experience advising on executive employment and separation matters and negotiates employment and pay arrangements on behalf of organizations and executives. He also regularly advises clients regarding group separation agreements and compliance under the Older Workers Benefit Protection Act.
