Career
Kyllan Kershaw provides guidance to employers dealing with a variety of labor and employment matters, particularly those related to changes in the workforce arising from ever-evolving labor laws, generational changes, technological advances, and new and different methods of communication. She helps clients manage challenges arising from mergers and acquisitions, workforce reduction, startups, and other business restructuring matters. Ms. Kershaw is National Vice Chair of the firm’s Labor Management Relations practice group.
Ms. Kershaw’s clients reach out to her for counseling on employment issues, collective bargaining, labor arbitrations, workplace investigations, election campaigns and union vulnerability assessments, and proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board. She also provides clients with positive employee relations training, as well as legal and practical advice on a wide spectrum of labor relations issues, including lockouts and strikes, card-check and neutrality agreements, corporate campaigns, traditional organizing campaigns, withdrawal liability and other employee benefits matters, and labor-related bankruptcy issues. Ms. Kershaw also has particular experience guiding employers subject to the Railway Labor Act, and is well-versed in airline-related labor matters, having guided airline clients through collective bargaining negotiations, arbitrations, bankruptcies, and business restructuring issues.
Ms. Kershaw is a well-known thought-leader on matters related to workforce change, including those related to automation, ecommerce, generational changes in the workforce, advances in employee communication and social media, and how to level the communication playing field between unions and employers when communicating with younger, more diverse workforces.
To serve clients effectively, Ms. Kershaw becomes well-versed in her clients’ business and industry. She helps clients solve problems and won’t simply highlight their risk. Ms. Kershaw partners with clients to find the most practical solutions to protect their interests and meet their business objectives. She also focuses on technological and other workforce developments in the sectors she works in so that she can develop proactive plans for clients to address potential challenges.
Ms. Kershaw serves on the Board of Directors for the Atlanta Humane Society and is a recent graduate of the ABA Labor and Employment Law Section’s Leadership Development Program.
