Watson Farley & Williams recently bolstered its aviation finance practice by hiring Jackson Chow and senior consultant William Ho from Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP in January 2021. Chow and Ho have a wealth of experience in the aviation finance and leasing market, and have recently been acting on a number of large restructuring deals; they act for a number of clients in Greater China. The culturally-diverse team is led by shipping finance expert Madeline Leong, who is qualified to practise in Hong Kong, England & Wales and Australia. She has over 30 years of experience in the sector and specialises in debt restructuring and enforcement work. Christoforos Bisbikos handles ship lease and debt finance. - Advised China Taiping Life Insurance (Hong Kong) Company Limited on the combined sale and leaseback and debt financing of one widebody aircraft involving Singapore Airlines.
- Advising AVIC Leasing on the restructure of an existing security package consisting of five vessels with an additional three collateral vessels as securities, along with other securities over the five vessels.
