Career

Mary has been a partner at Warners since 2013 and before that was a partner/director in solicitors’ firms in London and Kent since the 1980s.

Mary is Head of the Private Client Team. Mary acts as a professional trustee for numerous trusts and is also a court appointed administrator in a number of contentious estates and trusts. Mary prepares Wills and powers of attorney and advises on the administration of estates, powers of attorney and deputyship orders. She specialises in working with families, in particular helping them manage their assets held in trust. She has kept up her knowledge of family law in order to assist clients in managing trusts resulting from divorce or Children Act proceedings.

Leisure

Mary lives with her husband Rory Silkin in Staplehurst and is clerk to the JS Newlyn Charitable Trust and treasurer of the Friends of All Saints Church which are both Staplehurst charities. Mary is happy to meet with clients living in Staplehurst in their homes outside normal office hours.

Mary is a member of the committee of management of Vincent Housing Association in Notting Hill and a member of the Reform Club.
