Ariff Rozhan & Co > Firm Profile
Ariff Rozhan & Co (ARC) is a firm established in 2015 focusing primarily on dispute resolution, led by its principal partners, Ariff Rozhan, William Lim and Christopher Arun.
ARC’s principal partners were all former partners in Malaysia’s largest law firm where Ariff was also a member of the Executive Committee and head of its Dispute Resolution and Arbitration practice.
Prior to joining the firm in April 2016, Ezane Chong was a partner in the Dispute Resolution practice of one of Malaysia’s largest and most established law firms. In January 2017, after being part of Ariff’s team for 7 years, Johnson Lim, formerly a Senior Associate, joined the partnership.
Since 2015, the firm has grown considerably and currently has more than 15 fee-earners, a number of trainee associates, and more than 10 support staff.
Partners and lawyers in ARC have all been involved in a plethora of cases for local and international clients, involving complex, novel and dynamic issues of law. These cases showcase the width and breadth of their experience, as well as demonstrating the depth and strength of their expertise. Many of these cases have been reported in Malaysian and International Law Reports. For example, our team members were amongst the first Malaysian lawyers exposed to unchartered “Securities Law” issues, dispute in relation to “revocation of Offshore Trust Licenses and regulations”, conducting “Forensic Litigation Due Diligence exercises” for local and international clients, and conducting, as lead Counsel, cross-border disputes and international commercial arbitrations involving multiple jurisdictional issues.
Our Legal Services
ARC provides uncompromisingly focused and personalised legal services. It is also less affected by issues of conflict because of its focus on Dispute Resolution.
Our Malaysian clients include the largest banks in Malaysia and the Malaysian Offshore Financial Services Authority, the 2 largest power providers, the largest oil palm producer in the world, and Malaysian conglomerates with interest in the plantation, energy, gaming, utilities, infrastructure, logistic, engineering & construction industries. We also act for international clients like Shell, Murphy Oil, Airbus, Cemex, Volkswagen and The Dar Group of Companies from the Middle East.
In addition, Ariff Rozhan (Managing Partner) also practises as a Barrister in London from the Chambers of A.B Rozhan, and is authorised to conduct litigation and is registered for direct access.

CLIENT: Bee-Lee See
COMPANY/FIRM: Head of Content, Consider Digital Sdn Bhd
TESTIMONIAL: I first met Ariff while he was partner at Zaid Ipahim in the context of an extraordinary business crisis impacting my company. Ariff proved to be an invaluable resource, not just because he understood the complexities of running a business within the design constraints of Malaysias legal and political system, but also because he was determined to help stand by our multinational prerequisites of keeping everything above board. He and his team leveraged our strengths towards achieving our legal objectives and positioning strategy with all stakeholders involved. He was always available no matter how big or small the request and approached tasks with the same high-level of attention to detail and grit even though we must be pretty small clients in his portfolio. I always felt confident with Ariff advising me. Since then, Ariff has started his own company in ARC, and I have been enormously grateful to have his continued support in staying compliant with Malaysias evolving competition and commercial practises.
CLIENT: Yash Bheroo
COMPANY/FIRM: Barrister, 3 Verulam Buildings
TESTIMONIAL: Ariff Rozhan stands out as a start. He is highly experienced having worked at powerhouse sets in the region. In this regard, both Ariff and Ezane are extremely knowledgeable in a variety of areas of law. It is very impressive how quickly and exponentially the Firm has grown under their direction and it is a Firm to watch. Ariffs work in multiple jurisdictions has strengthen his ability to give commercial and pragmatic advice to the firms clients, which puts him at a huge advantage over other lawyers. He recently acted on a family and commercial matter for one of the wealthiest individuals in Malaysia dealing with complex areas of trust law. He makes the right tactical decisions and recognise that cases are not won on just points of law, but also on taking the right decisions along the way. He works at all hours and is always contactable at short notice, even where time differences of 8 hours exist. Ariff Rozhan is a seasoned advocate who crafted his skills at the English bar and it has carried through to his Malaysian practise as a trusted and senior advocate who commands the attention of the court.

Having started his own firm, I have no doubt Ariff will go from success to further success.
