Alistair’s straight-talking, imaginative style has led to resolution across all types of civil and commercial disputes, from modest claims to complex multi-party cases of up to £35 million in value. Very good at building rapport and confidence in the process; very easy to engage with.

Mediates all civil and commercial disputes (except matrimonial) as well as political and community conflicts. Particular specialisms include construction and engineering, insurance, professional negligence, land, commercial contract, fraud, banking, agricultural, inheritance and employment.  Recent mediations have included £20m construction dispute in Dubai, £8m minority shareholder dispute, fintech product dispute (IP and shareholder dispute) valued at £10m.

Qualified as a mediator in 2006. Qualified as a solicitor in 1989 and solicitor-advocate (all courts) in 2005.
Transferred to Bar in 2017
Most of legal career spent with DAC Beachcroft legacy firms, specialising in construction and insurance
Developed mediation practice alongside legal practice and became full time mediator in 2014. CIArb-qualified construction adjudicator. Fellow of CIArb. Have undertaken in excess of 500 mediations
