Career

François, who graduated from Université Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne with a postgraduate degree in Business Law, began his career as a lawyer at CVML in 2003, before founding Brocard Avocats in 2013, and KARMAN in 2020.

With more than fifteen years of experience in M&A transactions and fundraisings at multiple stages of a company’s life, he has been mainly involved in seed and venture capital operations (Series A, B and beyond), alongside investment funds and entrepreneurs, with a pragmatic and long-term perspective.

Knowing from experience the expectations and points of vigilance of both entrepreneurs and investors, he pays particular attention to ensuring that the fundraising process is carried out and completed in such a way as to enable a genuine partnership and a constructive relationship between the stakeholders.

As a result, he has been involved, often over several successive rounds, in fundraisings in tech/web/e-commerce such as Happn, Akeneo, Doctrine, Captain Contrat, Lengow, Simplifield, Frichti, Clustree or Critizr, or in impact investing, such as Les Opticiens Mobiles, Les Alchimistes, Murfy or Make.org.

He was one of the contributors to the first edition of the Guide des bonnes pratiques du capital-innovation published by France Invest – Association des investisseurs pour la croissance.

François has been ranked for nearly ten years in the “3-star” category by the magazine Option Droit & Affaires in its annual survey of law firms involved in venture capital.
