Marija Bojović developed her legal expertise in corporate and commercial law in Serbia and in Montenegro. She particularly focuses on corporate, banking & finance, dispute resolution, M&A, tax, intellectual property, real estate, and healthcare & pharmaceuticals. Before the establishment of Bojović Drašković Popović & Partners, Marija was a founding partner of a leading law firm in Serbia and prior to that she led the associated legal practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers in Belgrade.


Marija is fluent in English.


Marija is a member of the Serbian Bar Association and the International Bar Association. Marija is one of the leaders of the regional legal network SELA (South East Legal Alliance), and she actively participated in forming this network back in 2016.


Marija is a graduate of the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Law where she earned her LL.B. and of Central European University where she earned her LL.M.

Bojovic Draškovic Popovic & Partners‘ team is widely respected for its advice on cross-border M&A deals, as well as local transactions. The group is also increasingly active in aviation-related matters. Vuk Drašković heads up the firm’s corporate, commercial and M&A groups, which include Uroš Popović, whose recent experience includes advising BMM on its acquisition of majority stakes in two target companies; and Marija Bojović, who assists with corporate and commercial law work. Bojovic Draškovic Popovic & Partners fields specialists in corporate, commercial and bankruptcy proceedings, along with complex NPL scenarios and IP disputes. The group also handles substantial ICC and UNCITRAL arbitrations, and is regularly mandated to assist with the enforcement of arbitral awards. The practice is co-led at senior partner level by Serbia and US-qualified Uroš Popović and arbitration expert Marija Bojović. Disputes practitioner Stefan Golubović was promoted to partner in May 2023.

Recent highlights for Bojovic Draškovic Popovic & Partners’ real estate team include advising a European chain of discount shops on its Bosnian market launch, and assisting Point Group with the transfer of ownership rights in immovable properties. The practice also regularly acts alongside the firm’s energy team on the real estate aspects of energy projects. Leading the real estate department, Marija Bojović has longstanding expertise in real estate and construction law in both Serbia and Montenegro. Bojović is supported by Sonja Šehovac, who predominantly focuses on real estate, construction, and infrastructure.

Bojovic Draškovic Popovic & Partners‘ energy team is led by Serbia and Montenegro energy sector expert Uroš Popović, who advises on waste management, biofuels, smart grids, mining, and hydro and wind power.
