Following his promotion to partner in May 2023, Levente Hegedüs has taken over from managing partner Csilla Andrékó as head of the banking, finance and capital markets team at Andrékó Ferenczi Kinstellar. A go-to choice for both domestic and international clients, the team’s extensive and diverse roster includes financial institutions, companies and ministries as well as banks, borrowers and issuers. The group is active across a wide range of industries, including project finance transactions within the infrastructure and energy sectors. Noted for its ‘deep knowledge of the industry’, the team’s expertise extends to financial regulatory advice, bond issues, and equity and debt transactions. The team’s restructuring and insolvency practice has shown recent growth, advising creditors, debtors, investors and sponsors, and banking litigation is another developing area. Dalma Ördögh brings experience in PPP/PFI finance, acquisition financing, and syndicated and secured lending to the team. Zsuzsa Andrékó was promoted to managing associate in April 2022, strengthening the bench, which also inlcudes Máté Nagy, at that level.

With a particular focus on inbound investments, the commercial, corporate and M&A team at Andrékó Ferenczi Kinstellar advises clients across Western Europe, the US and Asia. The group assists Hungarian clients with cross-border acquisitions, as well as advising on restructurings, joint ventures, spin-offs and public takeovers. The group’s expertise spans various industries, with a particular focus on deals within the energy, life sciences and real estate sectors. Gábor Gelencsér and Annamária Csenterics co-lead the team, with the latter bringing additional expertise in private equity matters to the group. As an English-qualified lawyer, Anthony O’Connor strengthens the practice’s international reach, advising corporate, private equity and venture capital investors across the CEE region. Ákos Nagy specialises in telecoms matters. Áron Barta and Kármen Csenge Koller were promoted to senior associate level in March 2023, rounding out the practice’s strong junior bench, which also includes associate Bianka Kovács.

Cartel investigations are a particularly prolific area for the competition team at Andrékó Ferenczi Kinstellar. The practice is also active in the merger control space, and is regularly involved in merger control filings and in obtaining clearance before the HCA and the European Commission. Further strength range from compliance to state aid, and the group's diverse clientele includes financial institutions and companies active in the energy sector. Practice head Péter Vörös regularly represents clients in high-profile cartel cases before both Hungarian and European courts. With substantial litigation experience, Orsolya Staniszewski also represents clients in antitrust and consumer protection cases. Noémi Varga handles abuse of dominant position cases, while Eszter Takácsi-Nagy is noted for her experience in advising clients from the life sciences sector.

The projects and energy team at Andrékó Ferenczi Kinstellar spans the full breadth of the energy sector, from power plant development, to downstream projects, to energy efficiency solutions. The practice boasts a strong track record in the mining, oil and gas, and petrochemical industries. Kristóf Ferenczi and Balázs Sepsey jointly lead the team; the former typcially advises on investments into the energy sector and petrochemical projects, while the latter assists clients across the electricity, natural gas and district heating sectors, including advising on state aid and competition law matters. In line with market trends, Péter Gullai, who was promoted to managing associate in March 2023, focuses on PV projects, while László Bujáki is actively involved in energy-related M&A deals.

Andrékó Ferenczi Kinstellar specialises in data privacy matters in the TMT sector, and regularly provides clients with privacy training and advice on data processing. Senior associate Dániel Endre Nagy heads the firm-wide data and cybersecurity teams, as well as the local TMT practice, bringing particular expertise in data protection, privacy and compliance to the firm; he is also the driving force behind the firm’s recently established AI task force. Ákos Nagy boasts almost 20 years’ experience advising telecoms clients on GDPR compliance, marketing and regulatory issues. Anna Szilágyi provides further support, focusing on data protection, IP and TMT law.

The practice continues to expand its service offering, advising on an increasing number of collective employment, immigration law-related and whistleblowing matters. The group remains an established choice for companies in the industrial and automotive industries, as well as boasting particular expertise in the IT and pharmaceutical spheres. Dániel Péter leads the team and was promoted to managing associate in April 2023. Szilágyi Szabolcs focuses on the establishment and termination of employment, while Ákos Nagy specialises in employee share schemes, a recent area of increased focus.

With over 16 years’ experience, Mónika Frank co-leads the team, advising a diverse list of investors and developers on disposal, development and financing across all asset classes. Frank's counterpart Barnabás Sági specialises in construction projects and real estate developments. Bertalan Ványa supports with greenfield investments matters, as well as real estate acquisition and leasing.

Data privacy matters are a key focus area for the TMT team at Andrékó Ferenczi Kinstellar, which also noted a recent increase in AI-related mandates, and the practice provides regulatory advice in both areas. As head of the local TMT team, as well as the firm-wide data and cybersecurity services, Dániel Endre Nagy advises a growing roster of technology and social media companies and automotive clients on GDPR, compliance and software matters. Anna Szilágyi‘s practice spans data protection, IP and TMT issues, while Ákos Nagy predominantly advises telecoms clients on regulatory and commercial matters.

Andrékó Ferenczi Kinstellar provides a full dispute resolution offering across both litigation and arbitration. The ‘well-prepared and flexible’ team has expertise in competition and insolvency claims. Péter Vörös leads the practice, and is particularly noted for representing clients in cartel, abuse of dominant position and consumer protection cases. Noémi Varga has a strong track record in employment disputes.
