He advises business with respect to German and international tax issues, in particular with respect to the financial services industry (banks/asset-managers/VCs). He supports his clients not only with respect to legal issues but also with respect to the respective project management.

Dr. Oliver von Schweinitz studied at the universities of Heidelberg, Sorbonne-Paris and at Duke University, North Carolina. He passed the New York bar exam and obtained a Master of Law and Finance from the "Institute for Law and Finance" of Goethe University Frankfurt am Main. His doctoral thesis was supervised by Professor Dr. Paul Kirchhof with a publication on German and European tax law.

Before joining Schalast he worked as attorney with Freshfields/Weil, Gotshal and KSP-Rechtsanwälte (responsible for taxes, NPL-acquisitions and finance). Thereafter, he was with PwC in the department financial services (last as director). At LPA-GGV he was in charge for the Financial Services department.  He is co-founder of the passcon-group, a consulting company on issues of anti-financial-crime, that now belongs to AML RightSource LLC.

Dr. Oliver von Schweinitz is instructor at Hamburg University for its Master of International Taxation (MITax) with respect to „real estate and taxation ". He is member to a BIAC-forum in support of Working Party 10 of the OECD.
