Career

Admitted 1989, Athens; authorized to appear before all Greek Courts, of all instances.

He possesses unique expertise in advisory and litigation work in the fields of EU law, energy (especially in respect of regulatory matters) law, competition, public procurement and expropriation, environmental law as well as immigration law and Greek citizenship issues. His extensive litigation experience involves the representation of both companies and high net worth individuals before all competent Greek and European Courts.

He is also Head of Division of Regulatory Framework and Property of the Legal Department at the Public Power Corporation S.A. (PPC), having worked at PPC’s Legal Department since 1993. In addition, he served for almost two years as Member of the Supervisory Board of the Independent Power Transmission Operator (IPTO or ADMIE); he has worked as external legal counsel in the area of public procurement in Directorate of Technology and Energy of the Athens 2004 Olympics’ Games Organizing Committee.

Besides his practical experience, he has in-depth academic knowledge and he has authored a number of books and articles dealing with a diverse array of matters, spanning over several different legal areas, such as EU law, energy law, competition law, public procurement and European environmental law.
