Norway > Dispute resolution

Advokatfirmaet Haavind AS is home to a dispute resolution team that attracts praise for its ‘vast industry know-how and experience‘ across the infrastructure and energy sectors. Henning Nordtvedt leads the group, which also includes seasoned litigator Johnny Johansen, who is an expert in construction-related disputes, and Mikal Brøndmo, who focuses on international disputes and arbitrations. Also in the core team is Rasmus Asbjørnsen, whose broad litigation practice spans M&A, real estate, and tax cases. Kari Sigurdsen acts for corporations and governmental entities on tax, employment, and contract matters, while Anne Hesjedal Sending focuses on public procurement and commercial contract cases. The group strengthened its construction disputes offering with the 2023 arrival of Sofie Komissar, formerly at BAHR.

Norway > Energy

Counting leading E&P players, major contractors, and large domestic power and grid companies among its impressive roster of clients, Advokatfirmaet Haavind AS leverages the firm’s strength in the construction and offshore industries to provide a broad offering spanning the full range of industry-specific issues. On the renewables front, Aksel Tannum heads up the practice and takes point on issues related to power generation as well as contentious mandates, working alongside regulatory expert Jøran Sandvik and litigators Mari Reitzel Bjerke and Pål Martin Abell. On the oil and gas front, the team has a strong track record in advising leading oil and gas contractors on field developments and offshore construction mandates, overseen by Christopher Sveen. Bård Sandstad handles M&A and corporate work on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, while oil and gas disputes are the area of focus for Mikal Brøndmo.

Norway > Offshore construction and shipbuilding

Described by clients as ‘perhaps the most solid practice in the country’, Advokatfirmaet Haavind AS is routinely instructed by large high-profile contractors and regularly advises on shipbuilding mandates, energy development projects, as well as contentious matters within the sector. Christopher Sveen oversees the group and has a strong track record advising oil and offshore industry players on project developments and contracts; while Mikal Brøndmo is the key contact for contentious work. Fielding a strong team of associates, the team also includes Sarah-Ann Kvam, who specialises in offshore construction and shipbuilding contracts, while Silje Helene Bakkevig Dagsland ‘excels’ in both contentious and advisory mandates.
