Headed by David Mortimer, Blake Morgan LLP receives a significant flow of work on behalf of the Medical Protection Society (MPS) where it represents its members in defending claims brought against them. Praised for his 'top-notch client handling skills', Huw Llewellyn-Morgan¬†has 'an inordinate amount of experience in medical law - particularly regulatory cases before the General Medical Council and medical inquests, where there may also be a clinical negligence claim'. Morgan recently represented a medical practice in a claim by a patient alleging misprescription of an addictive drug which they since became dependent on. The 'down-to-earth and approachable' Mike Scherp¬†is a 'fantastic litigation tactician'¬†who is 'tactful in dealing with clients facing challenging cases' and also 'knows how to speak to and deal with doctors and get the best results from experts'. Scherp is representing a¬†General Practitioner (GP) in a claim where allegations have been made against two other GPs and a hospital consultant in relation to life changing injuries sustained by the claimant.
