Shipping and logistics partner¬†Nicholas Woo¬†is the key contact. Henry Adams¬†and associate Pamela Dunning are key members of a practice that provides ‚ÄėCity expertise delivered on a more personal basis'. 'Response times are quick, the industry knowledge is good, the advice is always thorough and excellent value for high-quality service', says one client of the¬†shipping practice, which frequently handles¬†cargo claims and charterparty disputes. 'The firm's ethos is one of rigorous professionalism and an intensely thoughtful approach to achieving the best outcome for their clients', he adds. The firm has the only recognised road transport practice with an office in Felixstowe, and it frequently advises transport and logistics clients on trade through the Port of Felixstowe. Practice head Howard Catherall is 'an extremely tough and decisive lawyer beneath a calm and engaging exterior; he really is the solicitor you want when the going gets rough, he never panics and he gives his clients clear and hard-headed advice'. Litigator Hugh Rowland is 'an elegant and highly intelligent lawyer' and he excels in regulatory matters. Leathes Prior has a strong track record in road transport law and it frequently acts for operators of passenger and goods vehicles in contentious matters, as well as handling licensing and employment issues. The firm's innovative Traffic Lawyers online service provides a national service to UK drivers, giving them access to specialist knowledge of laws and procedures. Tim Cary leads the practice and has extensive experience in road traffic and criminal proceedings before the Magistrates Courts and Crown Courts. He also handles the licensing of goods and passenger vehicles, taxis and private hire vehicles, and he frequently appears before the Traffic Commissioner and local authority licensing committees. Rising star Tej Thakkar is also recommended.
