Position

Michael is the head of Cleaver Fulton Rankin’s Private Client Department which offers a full service to clients including wills, administration of estates and trusts, tax planning and matters affecting elderly clients. He also deals with a substantial amount of Office of Care & Protection Work including Controllerships and applications for statutory wills. Michael was instrumental in the formation of the Northern Ireland Branch of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners in November 2007. Michael was Chairman of the branch from 2021 to 2015.

Career

Michael trained at Boyd & Hutchinson, London, qualifying in 2002. Michael then worked at James Murland & Company, Downpatrick (2003-04), before joining Cleaver Fulton Rankin in 2005. Michael was made Director in the firm in 2010.

Education

Michael graduated from University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 1999 with an LLB (Hons) and obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from University of Northumbria in 2000.
