Kanat is a partner in the Almaty office. He heads the firm’s tax practice, which provides a wide range of local and international tax advice, and represents clients in tax litigation. He is also active in other related legal areas such as customs, corporate, and regulatory issues.

Kanat Skakov provides international and local tax advice, and has defended natural resources companies, airlines and pharmaceuticals companies in court proceedings. He recently appealed to the Ministry of Finance against tax assessments on behalf of Louis Vuitton, supported by associate Stanislav Lechshak.
