Career

Jerry Kaapu is a partner in Bowmans’ Johannesburg Employment and Benefits Practice.

He is a seasoned litigator and is also an accredited industrial relations trainer, mediator and arbitrator.

He has served as a prosecutor, initiator, and chairperson in many disciplinary inquiries and represented a diversity of clients in litigation and private arbitrations at the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA), Bargaining Councils, the Labour Court and the Labour Appeal Courts.

Jerry has served on the South African Society for Labour Law’s (SASLAW’s) Executive Committee and as Deputy President of the Gauteng Chapter.

Jerry was appointed as an Acting Judge of the Labour Court in 2016.

He has B.Proc and LLB degrees from the University of the Western Cape.
