Career

Lusanda Raphulu is head of Bowmans’ Dispute Resolution Department.

She advises clients on the employment law consequences of commercial transactions and corporate restructurings; and allegations of fraud, racial discrimination and sexual harassment.

She also advises on separations with senior executives and in relation to retrenchments, redundancies, unfair dismissal and unfair labour practices.

She is a director of the South African Society for Labour Law’s (SASLAW’s) pro bono company, which helps indigent individuals at the various Labour Courts in South Africa.

Lusanda has sat as an acting judge at the Labour Courts in Johannesburg and Port Elizabeth.

She heads the Africa Middle East region of the Employment Law Alliance.

She has a BSocSci from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, an LLB from the University of the Witwatersrand, and has completed the Leading Professional Services Firms Programme run by Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford, UK.
