Career

Dr. Monnat is a Manager and senior, licensed Patent Agent. Dr. Monnat has a certificate in “Advance in Intellectual Property Law” from Institute of Legal Education of the Thai Bar and IP-UP Program certificate from Department of Intellectual Property-Thailand Research Fund.

Prior to joining Ananda Intellectual Property, Dr. Monnat gained much experience on IP matters in private companies and universities. With over 15 years’ scientific research experience, her areas of expertise include molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry, biotechnology and enzymology. She has eight scientific publications in ISI/SCOPUS database and five international presentations. Also, she is an inventor and applicant of one Thai petty patent.

Dr. Monnat is also a speaker on topics related to intellectual property, biotechnological patent protection in Thailand, research for establishment of intellectual property in genetics and bio-based industries, microbe, molecular genetics, mutation, biochemical genetics, food safety, biological monitoring of environmental contaminants, and biofuel.

Her permits include an animal use license from Institute of Animal for Scientific Purposes Development, a water pollution controller certificate from Thailand Environment Institute, a Biosafety Guidelines for Modern Biotechnology certificate from BIOTEC-Chulalongkorn University, a 16s rRNA marker sequencing from sample to analysis from Omics-Chulalongkorn University and a specific training certificate in food hygiene adapted to the activity of commercial food establishments from France.

She received an outstanding young scientist oral presentation award in “The 1st International Conference on Biotechnology, Bioengineering, Biorefinery, and Pollution Prevention”.

Dr. Monnat obtained her Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from Chulalongkorn University-INSA Toulouse and LLB (Law) from Ramkhamhaeng University. She received funding from the Thailand Research Fund (Royal Golden Jubilee Ph.D. Program), French Embassy in Thailand, and INSA-Toulouse, France to conduct her Ph.D. thesis in France. She obtained her Bachelor Degree of Science from Chulalongkorn University with second-class honors.
