Career

Rawat is a partner in the corporate and commercial department having joined Siam Premier in 1999. Rawat has diverse commercial expertise which includes project finance, corporate and commercial matters, foreign investment, property, mergers and acquisitions. Rawat also provides regulatory advice. His clients range from large consulting firms to multinationals and also include Thailand’s leading corporations and government agencies. Rawat includes the following among his clients: National Mutual, Westpac Banking Corporation, Unilever Thai Holdings, Financial Institution Development Fund, Seamico Securities Public Company Limited, United Overseas Bank, Chase Manhattan Bank, Merrill Lynch (Singapore), Sakura Finance, Charoong Thai Wire and Cable, Singapore Power, Unilever Thai Trading Limited, Boeing Capital Corporation, Boeing Netherlands Leasing B.V. and Telecom Asia Corporation Company Limited.

Siam Premier International Law Office Limited has actively invested in its dispute resolution team, which is now one of the largest departments at the firm. It has built a reputation acting for corporates in insurance, construction, government projects and employment litigation. In one of the group’s standout matters, department co-head Kong Suriyamontol successfully represented NVPSKG Joint Venture in two claims against the Pollution Control Department regarding payment for construction of the Samut Prakarn Wastewater Management Project. Suriyamontol also acted for Green Architecture and Engineering Company as claimant in construction arbitration proceedings. Techatat Udomsiri jointly heads the practice group and is defending the world’s largest fully integrated natural rubber company, Sri Trang Argo-Industry, in civil and criminal proceedings for alleged fraud. Managing partner Phisud Dejakaisaya has extensive experience in banking, investment and commercial litigation and is acting for Thai Takasago Company in the Central Administrative Court in a case concerning the unlawful termination of a construction contract. Rawat Chomsri, Noppramart Thammateeradaycho and Chakrapong Boonchan are other notable contacts in the department.

The labour and employment practice group at Siam Premier International Law Office Limited handles the full-range of contentious and non-contentious work for corporates in the automotive, manufacturing and hotel and tourism sectors. In labour disputes, the team is instructed by corporates and employees alike, and is involved in high-profile cases. Rawat Chomsri is acting for two companies, Chai Talay Hotel and Erawan Hotel, in Labor Court proceedings that seek to revoke an order of the Social Security Office determining how an employee’s wage should be calculated for the purpose of social security contributions. The team, which includes associate Phatcharapon Sunlakawit, also advises clients such as Fisher & Paykel Appliances (Thailand) and Chevron (Thailand) on various contentious and non-contentious labour and employment issues. It is also providing labour law support to Isuzu Motors (Thailand) and is representing the client in an employment dispute with certain retired former employees.
