Bas is an all-round M&A lawyer with more than 16 years of experience in the (international) merger and acquisition practice. He specializes in (mid-market) private equity and venture capital transactions. He also advises on joint ventures, carve-outs and restructurings. He also uses his extensive experience with professional investors in assisting corporates, DGAs and founders doing business with investors. Bas enjoys working efficiently and pragmatically with his clients and looks beyond the legal issues in transactions.
In recent years, Bas has assisted several private equity investors in their buy & build transactions and has been involved in many (international) auction sales and financing rounds.
Bas was educated at the University of Groningen and has also studied Corporate Finance (Harvard). Bas was an attorney at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer for over 10 years starting in 2006, and then co-founder and partner at Vriman M&A Lawyers.
