KSB founding partner Martin Šolc is recognized as one of the leading M&A and corporate restructuring lawyers in the Czech Republic. He has been ranked repeatedly as “Eminent Practitioner” in the Corporate/M&A category by Chambers Europe and Chambers Global, as “Leading Individual” in the Commercial, Corporate and M&A category by Legal 500, and as “Expert Consultant” by IFLR1000. He was twice elected Lawyer of the Year in the Czech Republic in the area of commercial law. In January 2017 Martin became the first person from Central Europe to be elected President of the International Bar Association (IBA – the world’s largest and most important association of lawyers) in the association’s 70-year history. His tenure lasted until December 2018. In the last 30 years, Martin has advised on a number of milestone M&A transactions, including the first ones following the transition to democracy in 1989. M&A clients Martin has advised include Asahi, Heidelberg Cement Group, YIT Stavo, RWE, Heineken International, ALSTOM, Owens-Illinois, Heidelberg Cement Group etc.
