Career

Jens Harkov Hansen is a partner and heads Accura’s Data Protection Team.

Jens advises businesses, public authorities and other organisations on data protection law, including the GDPR.

Jens has been engaged in data protection law since 2006 and, as a result, he has extensive experience advising on data protection law and privacy. He advises on data protection law in the broad sense, including data mapping, compliance programmes and data protection audits. Moreover, Jens has been intensively engaged in data protection in relation to employment law, including with respect to monitoring and control of employees, transfer of personal data between group companies, outsourcing and transfer to third countries. Jens also has experience within Binding Corporate Rules (BCR), data processor agreements and the interaction between social media and data protection law.

He also advises on CSR, in particular in an HR context.

Jens was one of the first Danish attorneys to become certified in European data protection law and is also a certified IT Attorney.

Jens joined Accura in 2017.

Education

Jens was admitted to the Danish bar in 2012 after having been employed with the Danish Data Protection Agency and the Danish Ministry of Justice and, in 2014, he achieved his CIPP/E credential. In 2018, he became a certified IT Attorney.

Jens graduated in law from the University of Copenhagen in 2006.
