Rafael Lucas Pires specializes in private equity transactions, joint ventures, trading companies and corporate governance matters, disinvestments, corporate restructurings, buyouts, acquisitions and privatization proceedings. He is also an expert in sectors such as telecommunications, media, energy, agriculture, fast-moving consumer goods, health care, tourism and infrastructure.

From 1998 to 2022, he worked at SLCM – Serra Lopes, Cortes Martins & Associados, a full-service law firm with over 60 years of activity that merged with Cuatrecasas in 2023.

He was an assistant lecturer of administrative and constitutional law at Universidade Católica Portuguesa de Lisboa (1998-2002).
