4 Stone Buildings stands out for its ‘significant strength in depth for civil fraud disputes’. The team has an excellent reputation for acting in complex, high-profile fraud cases; Sharif Shivji KC and Emma Horner represented Credit Suisse in Republic of Mozambique v Credit Suisse & ors, the long-running "tuna bonds" dispute arising from a $2bn funding arrangement involving allegations of bribery, conspiracy and fraud. In a separate matter, Alexander Cook KC and Guy Olliff-Cooper successfully represented a defendant before the Court of Appeal in Mex Group Worldwide Ltd v Ford & Ors, involving an application to discharge a €85m worldwide freezing injunction, concerning allegations of unlawful means conspiracy, obtained in support of proceedings in Scotland.
