Brick Court Chambers is very highly regarded for ‘its strength-in-depth and breadth of commercial expertise’. Helen Davies KC led the advice to the defendant in Gorbachev v Guriev, a Commercial Court claim for the recovery of a stake worth $1.8 billion in PhosAgro, involving allegations of fraud brought against the defendant and current owner of the company by the claimant; the Commercial Court dismissed the claim in its entirety. In another matter, Mark Howard KC and Tom Pascoe successfully represented Barratts before the Supreme Court concerning the client’s claim for the cost of repairs brought against its structural engineers for negligence, contribution, and under the Defective Premises Act 1972, in relation to fixing defects in high-rise buildings. Edward Harrison KC took silk in March 2025, and Katie Szewczyk returned to the set as deputy senior clerk from Fountain Court Chambers in September 2025.
