Wrigleys team up with data protection expert to provide practical training for schools

Next year (25th May 2018) the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will replace the Data Protection Act 1998. Schools, together with most other organisations will be directly affected by this new law. It will change the way schools  hold, manage and disclose personal data including student's data, personnel records, CCTV images and handwritten notes. GDPR introduces new provisions such as reporting data breaches and enhanced data subject rights. It is important for schools to fully understand their obligations under GDPR particularly in light of the hefty penalties for non-compliance which may amount to as much as  20 million euros.
