Welcome to Jazz Shapers with me, Elliot Moss, bringing the shapers of the business world together with the musicians shaping jazz, soul, and blues.  My guest today, I'm extremely pleased to say, is Sam McKnight, MBE, influential hairstylist and founder of his own brand of products, Hair by Sam McKnight.  Brought up in a mining community in the south of Scotland, Sam’s love of fashion and lack of love for his teacher training college lead him to work in a local salon and then, as he says, to blag a job in Molton Brown, the London salon of course where the magazines sought the hairdressers for their shoots.  Working for Vogue in the 1970’s and growing with an industry shaped by the supermodel phenomenon, Sam crafted iconic hairstyles for non other than Princess Diana, Kate Moss, Lady
