This news item is important for anyone who employs workers on the basis of a so-called flexible employment contract, such as an on-call contract, an agency contract or a temporary employment contract. Regarding these flexible contracts, important changes are proposed in the Act on more security for flexible workers, in Dutch: Meer zekerheid voor flexwerkers ('the Proposal'). The Proposal aims to give flexible workers more work certainty and income security. In addition, the Proposal provides more clarity about working hours and working schedules. Another goal is to give flexible workers sooner a permanent contract. The Proposal should contribute to reducing the differences between permanent employment contracts and flexible employment contracts.
