Ireland - AIFMD ready

The Central Bank has today issued various documents on its website related to the implementation of the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive ("AIFMD" or "Directive") following the consultation process with industry representatives and stakeholders. The publication of these documents at this early stage, pending the implementation into Irish law of the Directive, is welcome.

The documents provide a framework for managers of existing Irish non-UCITS funds and new entrants to make an application to the Central Bank for authorisation under AIFMD in advance of the 22 July 2013 deadline if they wish to be AIFMD compliant on that day or any time thereafter.
