1.1.1. RBI issues draft Master Direction on Business Authorisation for Co-operative Banks, 2025

The Reserve Bank of India ("RBI") has released the draft Master Direction on Business Authorisation for Co-operative Banks (Directions), 2025. This draft is applicable to all co-operative banks, including Primary (Urban) Co-operative Banks (UCBs), State Co-operative Banks (StCBs), and District Central Co-operative Banks (DCCBs), it mandates board-approved policies for expansion, robust internal controls, and cyber security, stipulating reporting and compliance via RBI's Central Information System
