The European Commission (the "Commission") has sent a Statement of Objections ("SO") to nine European producers of mountings for windows and window-doors.  The Commission suspects the nine producers of participating in a cartel in relation to mountings used to open and close windows and terrace-and balcony-doors.

The Commission believes that the producers may have colluded to increase the sales prices for these mountings in the European Economic Area and has therefore sent an SO outlining its findings against them. The formal charges follow unannounced inspections at the premises of a number of European producers of mountings in various EU member states by the Commission in July 2007.
