Work undertaken at Whitestone: –

Aviation and Travel: Barristers at Whitestone Chambers advise in both contentious and non-contentious matters. They regularly advise, draft pleadings and appear in Courts in and out of London on a variety of Aviation Disputes. Chambers’ expertise covers a range of specialist areas, including but not limited to carriage by air disputes involving EU regulations such as the Package Travel Regulations and the Warsaw and Montreal Conventions, cargo claims, baggage claims, delay claims and denied boarding claims.

Chambers also acts on negligence claims, including personal injury, in both an aviation and employment context, and can advise on the sale, purchase and leasing of new and used aircrafts; commercial arrangements pertaining to aircraft operations (maintenance agreements, agreements for the supply of fuel, catering and ground handling services) and cargo and product liability disputes.

Banking and finance: Barristers at Whitestone are regularly instructed to act both for and against banks in a wide variety of disputes. They often represent and advise in relation to claims brought by banks, particularly against small to medium sized business (those with an annual turnover of up to £50 million) where facilities are secured with guarantees and/or legal charges over the personal property of directors or shareholders. Chambers has acted against almost every bank in the U.K. including Barclays, Lloyds, HSBC, Halifax and Nat West.

Commercial and Chancery: Our barristers undertake a full range of Commercial and Chancery disputes. They appear regularly in the Commercial Court, Chancery Division and various County Courts in and out of London. Chambers’ barristers are highly experienced in Banking and Finance, Private International Law, Fraud, Injunctive Relief, Insurance, Intellectual Property and Professional Negligence.

Insolvency: The barristers in chambers are experienced in acting for creditors (secured and unsecured) and appear regularly in the Chancery Division and Companies Court of the Royal Courts of Justice. Chambers’ expertise includes Administration, Liquidation, Asset Tracing and Recovery, Bankruptcy, Cross Border Insolvency, winding up petitions and company and individual voluntary arrangements.

International: Barristers at Whitestone Chambers have acted for a large number of commercial clients worldwide for a number of years. They can offer international commercial clients advisory drafting and dispute resolution services. As commercial specialists each barrister understands the commercial objectives of their clients.
