At Juristconsult Chambers, we believe in the most valuable offering which is to help others. We support diversity starting from our firm, where individuals of all backgrounds, gender, age and beliefs work in harmony under the same roof. At the firm we work on fostering a friendly culture where the team members feels at ease to voice out their concerns. The firm has also sensitized employees on energy saving and several measures regarding the recycling of waste.

We have since the establishment of the firm helped many organisations who are vested in activities towards the betterment of the society. Each year the firm is engaged in helping organisations through donations. In 2017 the firm helped 5 main organisations, each leading their own fight towards a better welfare. The causes that we supported these last years are; the care for the homeless, the rehabilitation of women, Type 1 diabetes, visually handicapped and the alleviation of poverty in general.

The firm also engages in legal pro bono work. One of the most renowned case that caught the attention of the media, even of surrounding countries was when the firm’s lawyer represented the association Prévention Information Lutte contre le Sida (PILS) before the Supreme Court in the case of the young Cameroonian student who was denied a residence permit because of her HIV status. The student was then allowed to continue her studies on humanitarian grounds. Members of the firm have also assisted in the drafting of documents for the setting up of cultural associations.

Burty Francois, Partner at the firm is the dedicated lawyer in relation to pro bono work. Taking care of the under-privileged has always been and will always be one of Juristconsult’s mission towards a society in which we work and live.
