Position
Karen is a partner and has been involved in insurance litigation for over 25 years, specialising in defended reparation cases.
She advises and represents self-insured companies and businesses as well as a wide range of insurers, brokers and claims handlers and has considerable experience in defending a wide range of employers' liability, public liability and RTA claims, including complex and catastrophic claims. She has a special interest in animal, veterinary and equestrian litigation, having previously held the position of Director for Governance with Horse Scotland, responsible for lobbying the Scottish Government for legislative changes in the equestrian welfare environment. Karen is head of the business stream for Scotland and the driving force behind a number of our litigation and technology initiatives, which focus on providing the best service to our clients.

Qualified: 1990; partner HBM Sayers 2000; partner BLM 2014 to date, following merger with HBM Sayers. Former audit and operations director of Horse Scotland.
