Career
Katherine González is an associate at CorralRosales. She has more than 13 years of experience in the areas of Administrative Law, Administrative Litigation, and Intellectual Property.
Katherine is the Head of the National and International Administrative Litigation department. Her practice includes providing legal counsel to local and international clients in opposition proceedings, cancellation, and nullity actions, as well as ordinary and extraordinary administrative recourses. This activity is complemented with the management of a wide range of procedures before the IP Office.
Previously, she served as head of the Oppositions Area of the Ecuadorian Institute of Intellectual Property (now National Service of Intellectual Rights), position in which she implemented new internal actions and procedures that had a positive impact on the amount of paperwork dispatched. She has also worked in several public sector institutions as legal advisor and sponsorship.
Katherine is part of the Diversity and Sustainability Committee of the Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property (ASIPI) for the 2021-2023 period. Also, she actively participates in internal and external activities on diversity, inclusion, and equality subjects within the firm.
She has written several articles on Intellectual Property which have been published in national and international magazines; she also collaborated with the university initiative “Ecuador gives you the Hand”, whose mission was to vocationally guide young people and educate them in the prevention of discrimination.
She has been mentioned in prestigious legal directories such as The Legal 500, IP Stars, and WTR 1000.

Education
Katherine is a graduate from the Universidad Central de Venezuela with a Specialization in Administrative Law from Universidad Santa Maria and a master’s degree in Intellectual Property and New Technologies Law from the International University of La Rioja. Furthermore, she has attended several intellectual property advanced courses approved by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KYPO), among other organizations.
