José Balta leads our Labor area and specializes in advising national and foreign companies on labor issues.

He advises national and international clients on matters related to complex compensation structures, personnel recruitment, workplace discrimination and sexual harassment, as well as individual and collective terminations. He also provides advice on labor inspections, and strategies for the optimization of labor costs and decentralization of the production process, such as outsourcing and intermediation.

José has been a professor in the Law School of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP) where he taught several courses on labor law. He has published various articles, as well as the book Acoso sexual en las relaciones laborales privadas (Sexual harassment in private labor relations) (ARA Editores, 2005).

Several publications such as Chambers & Partners, Legal 500, Latin Lawyer and Leaders League, recognize him as one of the best lawyers in the labor area and he has been highlighted as a Thought Leader by Lexology Index.
