Jason Krochak is a partner in Proskauer’s Corporate Department and a member of the Sports Law Group. He maintains a broad-based corporate practice, with a particular focus on advising clients in the sports and gaming industries.
Jason represents sports leagues, teams and owners, college conferences, private investment funds, financial institutions, gaming companies and corporate sponsors in a wide range of transactions, including acquisitions, joint ventures, league expansions, financings and governance matters. He also advises on naming rights, sponsorship, media, licensing and various other commercial agreements.
Jason’s experience includes representing the National Basketball Association, Major League Soccer, the National Football League, the Atlantic Coast Conference, the Big East Conference, the ATP Tour and the WTA Tour, as well as numerous professional sports teams and their owners, in significant transactional and governance matters. His experience includes representing MLS in its arrangements with Lionel Messi and various expansion transactions, advising the Patrick D. Bowlen Trust in the record-breaking $4.65 billion sale of the Denver Broncos, and counseling Bruin Capital in the acquisition of Full Swing Simulators. He has also advised on several market-shaping sports betting deals, including FanDuel’s naming rights and media partnership with Diamond Sports Group and Simplebet’s sale to DraftKings.
Jason has an active pro bono practice and serves on the Advisory Board of Legal Outreach, an organization that prepares urban youth from underserved communities in New York City to compete at high academic levels. In partnership with Legal Outreach, he created the “Sports, Business and Law” clinic, an annual program in which eighth-grade students participate in a mock NBA Expansion Workshop held at Proskauer’s New York office.
