Annabell is a solicitor working in the Media and Communications Law department. She advises both claimants and defendants on a range of reputation and crisis management issues, including defamation, privacy and harassment. Annabell advises clients at both the pre and post publication stage, including urgent pre-publication work for individuals and businesses who have been approached for comment by the press.

Deterring the publication of serious and false allegations that a prominent religious leader harboured fundamentalist and extremist views. Preventing the publication of serious and false allegations of dishonesty and breaches of regulatory obligations against a professional individual.Defamation
Represented a high-profile green-energy industrialist in a libel action against the publisher of the Daily Mail, Mail on Sunday, Mail Online and Mail Plus. Deterring defamation litigation against a pilot regarding an employment reference provided to their employer's hiring team about a job applicant.Harassment

Prior to joining Brett Wilson, Annabell worked in a central London specialist reputation and crisis management team, where she represented HNW individuals and prominent sports personalities in libel, misuse of private information and urgent pre-publication matters.
This included:-
Making submissions to the IPSO Arbitration Scheme on behalf of a whistleblower client in an arbitration against the investigative team at The Sunday Times. Representing high-profile executives in the gambling industry in a case against the regulator for misuse of their private information in connection to a criminal investigation. Obtaining headline retractions and corrections at publishers, including Reuters, in connection with reporting on a client’s ongoing High Court cases.Annabell was previously an Associate at BCL Solicitors, where she gained experience in complex cross-jurisdictional criminal, civil and reputational matters.
Notable work included:
Successfully deterring a multi-claimant civil fraud claim from being brought against a UK-based individual in connection to an international billion-dollar fraud conspiracy orchestrated by Miles Guo and linked to Steve Bannon. The client faced an escalating harassment campaign, both online and in-person, which culminated in credible death threats. To ensure appropriate handling of the situation, representations were made to the Metropolitan Police on behalf of the client. Representing and advising a core-participant in the Grenfell Tower Inquiry with respect to both their participation in the Inquiry and the concurrent criminal investigation. Preparing the defence strategy for an anticipated extradition request from the government of Kazakhstan in connection with politically motivated allegations of embezzlement of public funds against a family member of the former president of Kazakhstan. Successfully made an application to INTERPOL for the deletion and prevention of politically motivated, malicious, Red Notices against two Brazilian business executives. The executives were targeted by corrupt Guatemalan politicians due to their roles as whistleblowers in the international Operation Car Wash corruption probe.
