Career

Vicky is a solicitor specialising in Crime and Regulatory defence.  She qualified in 2018 and joined the firm in June 2023, having previously worked as a Regulatory Associate and Criminal Defence Solicitor.

Vicky has vast experience of dealing with complex and sensitive cases, including document-heavy fraud matters and those involving sexual misconduct and serious assaults, both current and historic. She often represents clients who are subject to Account Freezing Orders and Account Forfeiture Order applications, preparing detailed evidence and representations, obtaining clients’ money back as quickly as possible.

She has represented a wide range of clients, including young and vulnerable people with mental health issues and high net worth and corporate clients. She is acutely aware of the implications criminal and professional discipline proceedings can have on such clients and is able to address their needs sensitively and appropriately.

Vicky appears at the Magistrates’ Court and has appeared in fitness to practise tribunals. She also represents clients at the police station, supporting them through interview and ensuring their interests are protected at all times.  She is able to deal with complex matters and vulnerable clients in difficult and fast-paced situations.

Vicky is committed to high standards of case preparation and is able to achieve excellent results for clients through her diligent and efficient work. She has a keen eye for detail and will leave no stone unturned in preparing a client’s defence.

Notable cases include:

BSB v Jo Sidhu KC – BSB investigation into sexual misconduct allegations against Jo Sidhu KC. This was the highest-profile professional discipline case of 2024 and the biggest prosecution the BSB has ever undertaken Jenny Hallam v SRA – successfully represented solicitor in applying for restoration to the roll. This case attracted wide press interest given the unusual facts AIT – represented a multi-national corporation facing witness summons applications in the Crown Court R v AT – successfully represented a driving instructor charged with sexual offences against a student. Case was discontinued following submissions regarding interpretation of the law. Represented client in relation to the criminal and ancillary proceedings HMRC v ANI – successfully recovered over €76,000 for a Cypriot company which was subject to an Account Freezing Order R v AB – successfully defended a business owner in relation to firearms allegations TV Licensing v AB – successfully persuaded TV Licensing to withdraw its prosecution of a client following representations BDA v CC – represented England Bowls player accused of sexual misconduct Police v CE – successfully persuaded the police to take no further action in relation to a rape allegation ASA v Grace Beverley – represented social media influencer Grace Beverley in relation to an investigation by the Advertising Standards Agency UKCP v MB – successfully represented a psychotherapist facing sexual misconduct allegations HCPC v NK – successfully persuaded the Investigating Committee of the HCPC to close a case against a hearing aid dispenser relating to a number of behavioural and competency allegations R v PC – successfully overturned a defendant’s conviction and persuaded a train company to discontinue the prosecution against client accused of travelling on the railway without the correct fare R v RJ – successfully defended a client charged with assault occasioning grievous bodily harm GDC v TC – successfully persuaded the GDC to take allegations of incompetence against a dentist no further Police v JWT – successfully persuaded the police to withdraw an application for an Account Freezing Order following the submission of comprehensive representations and evidence
