Diversity
Wansbroughs Solicitors is committed to eliminating discrimination and promoting equality and diversity in its own policies, practices and procedures and in those areas in which it has influence. This applies to the firm's professional dealings with staff and partners, other solicitors, barristers, clients and third parties.
The firm intends to treat everyone equally and with same attention, courtesy and respect regardless of their disability, gender (including marital status, gender reassignment, pregnancy, maternity and paternity), race, racial group, colour, ethnic or national origin, nationality, religion or belief, sexual orientation (including civil partnership status) or age.
The firm will make reasonable adjustments to remove substantial disadvantages faced by disabled persons, whether as job applicants, members of staff, candidates for promotion or clients.
Wansbroughs care about the community in which we live and work. Community involvement has been one of the firm’s core values for many years. As part of their individual personal career development, our lawyers and support staff are encouraged to be conscious of the needs of their wider community and to play their part by using their skills to provide help to a wide range of charities and voluntary organisations.
Making a difference is a key component of who we are. We achieve this through charitable work, charity fundraising, diversity, being good corporate citizens and managing our impact on the environment.
At Wansbroughs, we are conscious of our impact on the environments in which we work. We actively ensure that we manage our carbon footprint. One way in which we do this is through recycling programmes. We also consider water and electricity usage and are broadening our recycling programmes to include other common waste materials such as plastics. We aim to use fair trade products to promote ethical standards.
We have installed shower facilities on site to enable people to cycle or run to work and reduce their personal environmental impact by leaving cars at home. We minimise business travel wherever possible and use phone calls and conferences where appropriate. Staff who are required to travel for their role are also provided with the facilities to work remotely.
