Andy is the founder and Executive Director of Practico. He brings deep experience in costs litigation and ADR and is actively involved in supporting clients at a strategic level, particularly on high-value and sensitive matters, ensuring that advice is aligned with wider litigation and commercial objectives. His recent work includes acting for multiple defendant law firms and legal departments representing the ADR Defendants in the Grenfell Tower Litigation, advising Mishcon de Reya and the Federal Republic of Nigeria in one of the most significant commercial disputes in UK legal history, and providing independent costs advice in a collective action brought by Bulk Mail Claims Limited against Royal Mail.

Francesca Ellis

Francesca is a Director of Practico and is regularly involved in some of the firm’s most significant undertakings. She is widely recognised for her expert handling of complex costs claims arising out of group, commercial and media litigation. Her highly active practice includes playing a key role in the Pan NOx Emissions Litigation, as well as advising RPC on a high-profile costs dispute arising from litigation brought by the Duke of Sussex. Francesca also led on strategy and was responsible for advising on the £36 billion mass tort claim, one of the largest claims in English legal history, which arises from the 2015 Fundão dam collapse in Brazil.

James Parr

James has broad experience in the legal costs sector, both in-house and in costs consultancies, where he has dealt with a range of high-value commercial costs matters, up to and including cases before the Supreme Court and the Privy Council. His recent work includes leading the firm’s work with Wiggin LLP to defend Guardian Newspapers in a major libel and data protection case brought by actor Noel Clarke, as well as providing independent costs advice in a collective action brought by Bulk Mail Claims Limited against Royal Mail.
