Career

Mr. Tran Thanh Tung began working in the legal sphere before his graduation from the Ho Chi Minh City Law University in 2003 and he has now has gained nearly 16 years of experience as a practicing legal professional.

Prior to joining GV Lawyers, he practiced law at J&J Law Office, LuatViet Legal Consultants and at Phuoc & Partners. Mr. Tung is well qualified to provide legal advice on a wide range of legal issues with his particular areas of expertise being Corporate and Investment Law. He has handled a numbers of transactions related to corporate structuring, mergers and acquisitions, banking and real estate industries. His knowledge in this field of law is supplemented by his Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Banking. Mr. Tung thus has the capacity to connect legal and economic knowledge in a way that is highly satisfactory to the needs of clients. His recent graduation from the Master of Laws program has only heightened his considerable legal skills.

Mr. Tung has spoken at numerous professional seminars on investment and business law and has been invited to give professional opinion for some bills from the governmental agencies. He is also a keen reporter with many articles published in The Saigon Times (Thoi Bao Kinh Te Sai Gon), The Entrepreneur & Law Review, (Doanh nhan va Phap Luat), The Business Review (Nhip Cau Dau Tu), Vietnam Investment Review (Bao Dau Tu) and other newspapers. He also has been invited to give lectures at the Judicial Academy since 2009 to date and some universities and colleges in Ho Chi Minh City on his specialty areas of practice.

Professional Experiences:

• Started to practise legal profession before university graduation from the HCMC Law University in 2003 and so far gained 17 years of experience in legal field.

• Main practicing areas: Corporate and Investment, Restructuring & Insolvency.

• Engaged in various transactions relating to corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, banking and real estate.

• Participated as speaker at numerous professional seminars on investment and business law and has been invited to give professional opinion on some draft laws from the governmental agencies.

• Published many articles published in The Saigon Times, The Entrepreneur & Law Review, The Business Review, Vietnam Investment Review and other newspapers.

• Being Visiting Lecturer at the Judicial Academy and some universities and colleges in Ho Chi Minh City; presenter at Vietnam Association of Certified Public Accountants (VACPA), Vietnamese Association of Public Accounting Practice (VICA), etc.
