Career

Cristina is a founding partner of LOVILL, where she leads the Dispute Resolution team, specializing in litigation, national and international arbitration. She provides counsel on international arbitration under CeCAP, ICC, ICSID, and other regulatory frameworks. Her expertise has been recognized by Chambers & Partners, Legal 500, and Lexology for her achievements in complex international negotiations and disputes. She also serves as an Arbitrator at the Center for Conciliation and Arbitration of the Panama Chamber of Commerce and was the ICC Latin America representative (2017-2019).

Cristina is widely recognized for her leadership in high-profile disputes across diverse industries and for her deep expertise in international law. With over a decade of experience representing international private investors and Sovereign States, she brings strategic insight and global perspective to complex legal challenges. Cristina holds law degrees from the University of Oviedo (Spain), Universidad Católica Santa María La Antigua (Panama), and the University of Warwick (United Kingdom), where she was awarded the prestigious Chevening Scholarship by the British Council. Her academic and professional trajectory reflects a commitment to excellence and a nuanced understanding of cross-border legal frameworks.

Cristina's corporate practice has been as advisor and leading counsel for several corporations, multinationals and family offices in corporate transactions and day to day operations where she leads her team. Within the industries she has advised and has a deep understanding are; infrastructure, real estate, telecommunications, financial, energy, hotel, distribution and logistic, where she is very active due to her negotiation skills and business knowledge that provides and added value to her clients. Cristina also participates as a panelist and speaker in several national and international organizations in relevant subjects that include law, corporate social responsibility, gender diversity and leadership. She has a commitment in promoting social impact and giving back through pro bono cases and promoting best practices in the exercise of the Rule of Law in in Panama.

Cristina actively represents multinational and regional companies, family offices, and private clients in negotiations and corporate transactions across various sectors, including infrastructure, real estate, telecommunications, finance, energy, hospitality, distribution, and logistics.

She also advises on public bidding processes, commercial and investment agreements, and has extensive experience leading Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects in Panama, providing strategic guidance in decision-making and project management. She was selected to serve on the technical dispute resolution panel for the PPP project for the Rehabilitation of the Eastern Pan-American Highway, the first initiative implemented under Panama’s new legal framework for public-private partnerships, further solidifying her leadership in this collaborative model.

Cristina has been recognized as one of Panama’s top female executives, ranking among the 25 women featured in MERCO Líderes, a prestigious corporate reputation monitor.

She is advisor for the "Fundación Jesús Luz de Vida" (Jesus light of Life Foundation), which aims to reintegrate former gang members in society, in the transition to a social enterprise.
