Career
Born in Messina, Italy, in 1960. Bernardina Calafiori graduated in Jurisprudence in 1982 with full marks at the University of Milan, her thesis being on Commercial Law under Professor Giuseppe Sena. She commenced her professional career in November 1982, gaining significant experience in the field of litigation and consultancy in Civil Law, also dealing in matters of Family Law.
Since 1995 she has worked with Fabrizio Daverio (Attorney) and extended her practice providing advice in consultancy and litigation on all aspects of Employment and Social Security Law, in charge of the management and organisation of the firm and its litigation activities, which has now come to involve clients and jurisdictions all over Italy. Since 2001 she has been Founding and Managing Partner at Studio Legale Daverio & Florio.

She is Cofounder and Vice President of INNANGARD, an international employment law alliance which brings together leading employment law specialists from around the world to collaborate on international and cross-border employment law and HR issues. Like the other members of INNANGARD - some of whom are ranked in Legal 500 – Bernardina Calafiori strives to provide the best advice and seeks the best legal and commercial outcomes for clients.
She regularly meets other INNANGARD members to discuss international Employment Law matters, to host webinars and seminars for clients and contacts, and to undergo internal training within INNANGARD in order to ensure consistency of quality and service delivery across the member firms.
She is a permanent member of the Labour Commission of the Order of Accountants and Auditors of Milan and responsible, within the Commission, for the professional development plan and training schedule (updating courses, seminars, conventions and study days) in the field of Labour Law and often speaks at their conferences and periodically writes articles for specialized magazines.
Bernardina is a member of AGI, the Association of Italian Labour, and she has been enrolled in the register with the Court of Cassation since 2013. She is a member of American Bar Association.
