Tim Heitling

Dr. Tim Heitling is a Partner in Dentons’ Berlin office and a member of the M&A / Corporate and Energy / Infrastructure practice groups. Tim primarily focuses on regulated industries, namely the energy and infrastructure sector, including fiber networks and waste management systems. He advises domestic and foreign enterprises, sponsors, banks and financial investors with respect to M&A, joint ventures, projects and related financings. With respect to the energy sector, Tim has extensive experience advising on generation assets (gas, coal, nuclear, renewables), e-mobility, storage, as well as transmission and distribution assets. Tim’s practice also covers advice on commercial contracts and regulatory issues, such as on unbundling, third-party access regimes, exemptions from surcharges and grid fees. He also advises on all stages of project developments, from early-stage structuring through financing and share or asset deal transactions to PPAs, particularly for renewable energy facilities and power plants.

Inken Knief

Inken Knief represents clients in international and domestic arbitration proceedings. She has extensive experience in handling complex disputes and arbitrations, both ad hoc and before most major arbitral institutions (including International Chamber of Commerce, German Arbitration Institute, Swiss Chambers' Arbitration Institution, Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce, Vienna International Arbitral Centre, and Permanent Court of Arbitration), governed by a variety of substantive and procedural laws, and seated anywhere in the world. Thomas Nebel

Dr. Thomas Nebel is a partner in Dentons’ Dusseldorf office and co-head of the German Dispute Resolution practice group. Thomas specializes in domestic and cross-border commercial and civil law disputes. He represents clients in out-of-court settlements, in litigation before state courts and in arbitration. Thomas has a particular focus on construction disputes, corporate disputes including post-M&A disputes, and contentious insolvency. Thomas also advises on planning and implementing major projects and on drafting commercial contracts. Thomas has deep legal and technical expertise in the sectors of energy (conventional and renewable energy as well as transmission systems), infrastructure (railways, roads, aviation), construction, automotive and industrials. Prior to his admission to the German bar, Thomas worked several years at an insolvency administration firm.

Dr. Florian-Alexander Wesche is a Partner in Dentons’ Dusseldorf office and specialized in energy law. Florian advises companies in the energy and the industrial sectors (including the automotive and chemical industry) as well as financial investors on all aspects of German and European energy law with a special focus on energy contract law and energy regulation. He is particularly experienced in energy retail business, power production and distribution projects (renewable and conventional sources, including contracting), energy procurement concepts and contracts and e-mobility charging solutions. He has extensive experience in drafting and negotiating energy supply contracts and power plant related agreements. In addition, Florian has wide-ranging expertise of the German Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG) including the support scheme for renewable projects as well as the relief scheme for industrial companies regarding the EEG levy (EEG-Umlage) including respective litigation and energy regulatory compliance monitoring for industrials. He also has an in-depth knowledge of the areas of German and European regulation concerning grid access to gas and power grids and access to gas storage systems. Florian is regularly invited to speak on topics relating to energy law and often publishes articles in his fields of expertise. Before joining Dentons in 2021, Florian was a partner and head of energy law for several years in other international law firms.
