Garrigues Chile's eight-member banking and finance department is increasingly involved in prominent deals involving project, acquisition and corporate finance, as well as restructuring; and through the firm's significant international reach, it offers a strong platform for Chilean and international clients operating and investing in Chile. The practices of team head Pedro García and Jaime de Larraechea (incorporated from Cruzat, Vicuña, de Larraechea Abogados in 2018) cover corporate loans, project and structured finance, and debt restructuring. Principal associate Antonio Morales has approximately 10 years' banking and financing experience; and associate Francisca Ferrer  is noted for corporate loans and project finance. The team also specialises in real estate issues, mainly involving VAT and income tax; and it regularly advises resident and non-resident individuals on personal and inheritance taxes. Associate support is provided by María Jesús Hidalgo Larraín, who joined from Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría in July 2019 and focuses on corporate tax planning, particularly for restructurings; and Juan Pablo Obaid, whose practice is centred on tax litigation.

The dispute resolution practice at Garrigues Chile is led by the highly knowledgeable Mónica van der Schraft, who has considerable experience in complex litigation and arbitration, as well as out-of-court dispute resolution and international mediation processes, and acts for a broad spectrum of clients in corporate disputes, particularly in the mining, construction and insurance sectors. Notable support is provided by principal associate Cristóbal Sarralde (complex litigation and arbitration - both domestic and international- regarding civil and commercial issues). Oscar Ferrari – partner: he mainly focuses on providing tax advice to a range of Chilean and foreign clients on the development of their businesses or projects in Chile and abroad, and on corporate and asset restructuring processes, mergers, acquisitions, project finance and tax litigation, in both the administrative (before the Chilean Internal Revenue Service) and judicial (before the Tax and Customs Courts, Appeal Courts and Supreme Court) jurisdictions.
